What we collect
We collect only what the app needs to work:
- Your dreams — the text, voice transcriptions, AI-generated art and interpretations you choose to save, tied to your account.
- Account — an identifier from your sign-in method (Sign in with Apple, Google, or email), handled by our authentication provider. With Apple Private Relay we never see your real email address.
- Profile you provide — optional details such as your name, and — only if you use horoscopes — your birth date, used solely to personalise those features.
- Device & diagnostics — a push-notification token if you enable reminders, plus anonymised crash and performance data.
How your dream is processed by AI
To transcribe voice notes, paint dream art and write interpretations, the relevant entry is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to produce your result. We send only what's needed, and you stay in control: audio storage and AI features can be turned off in Settings. Horoscopes use the birth details you provide solely to generate your reading.
Where it's stored
Your entries are stored on our managed backend (Convex) and its file storage. Subscriptions are handled by Apple and our billing provider (RevenueCat) — we never see or store your payment-card details.
What we never do
- We don't sell your data or share it with data brokers.
- No ads, and no advertising profiles.
- Your dreams are private by default — never public or social.
Your control
You can export your data, and delete individual entries or your entire account at any time from Profile in the app. Deleting your account removes your entries from our active systems.
Children
NIGHTNOTE isn't directed at children. You must be at least 13, or the minimum age in your country, to use it.
